These terms govern your use of your Plak account, the community features in the app and the “Special Pressing” subscription. Downloading the app is also subject to the applicable App Store licence terms.
Unless a custom end-user licence has been set for Plak in App Store Connect, Apple’s Standard EULA applies; the service rules below don’t take away your mandatory consumer rights.
This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Turkish version, the Turkish version prevails, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have where you live.
1The service and your account
Plak is an app in which users design digital records with song links and leave them at physical places chosen by the team, open records near them, and use profile, shelf, Wall and notification features. Plak is not a music streaming or download service; a song link may take you to external services such as Apple Music or Spotify. Whether a song is available there, plays, or can be accessed with your account depends on that service’s terms.
Accounts are created with Sign in with Apple. You are reasonably responsible for what is done with your account, subject to your duty to tell us without delay about unauthorised access. Don’t impersonate anyone or give the impression of being an official Plak account. Usernames can be 2–24 characters long and use the letters, numbers, dots and underscores the app allows. “Plak”, “admin”, “support”, “official” and similar misleading names are reserved. Usernames and visible information may be changed or removed for community safety.
Plak is not directed at people under 13. If a higher age or parental consent is required where you are for digital services or personal data processing, those rules must be followed. The App Store age rating is a separate classification.
2Records, places and location
You can only drop records at places the Plak team has added to the app, and only open those records while you are within the verified distance of the place. A place’s opening radius may change; map positions and GPS readings aren’t always perfect. Dropping and opening records requires location permission while the app is open and a real-time location check. There is no background location tracking. Location details are explained in the Privacy Policy.
A record can’t be edited once it has been published. Its full content is visible to the person who left it and to people who open it at the place; before it’s opened, limited hints are visible. You may get a notification when someone opens your record. When at places, follow property rules and local law; don’t take risks to use the app in traffic, in dangerous areas or where access is forbidden. Plak gives you no right of entry to a place and no commercial connection with it.
For the security of the service we apply activity limits: in the current version at most 5 records a day; 20 openings in 10 minutes; 30 posts a day and 3 a minute; 60 comments an hour and 5 a minute; 300 reactions an hour; 200 follows and 20 reports a day. We may reasonably update these limits to prevent abuse. Location spoofing, automation, exceeding rate limits or getting around the opening check are forbidden.
3Content and rights
Plak lets you create records, profiles, shelves, drawings, photos, GIFs, notes, posts, comments and share cards. You keep the rights to what you share. By uploading content you give Plak a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission, valid in the regions where the service is available, to host, reproduce, display, technically convert and make your content available to other users within the visibility you choose, only as far as needed to run the service and perform the sharing features you use. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for legal retention exceptions and external shares other users have already made. You don’t give Plak permission to use your content in independent advertising.
Only upload photos, drawings, text, GIFs and links you have the right to use and share. Don’t share other people’s private information without their consent. Choosing a song doesn’t transfer the copyright in a recording or album cover to you. The external music links the app supports are Spotify and Apple Music song links; the link itself gives no permission to use third-party content. You can report a copyright or other rights infringement to plakapp@outlook.com with a link to the content and a description.
The rights in Plak’s brand, software, original interface and service elements belong to the service provider or its licensors. Don’t copy or reverse-engineer the app, or get around its security measures, except as allowed by applicable law and the App Store licence rules.
4Community and moderation
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. The following content and behaviour are forbidden: threats, harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, sexual exploitation or content that endangers children; violating other people’s privacy; encouraging unlawful or dangerous acts; spam, fraud, deceptive identities or fake locations; infringing other people’s intellectual property; technically disrupting the service or other users. The detailed Community Guidelines published in the app also apply together with these terms.
You can report content or an account from the menu in the app and block a user. When three different users report the same content, it can be hidden automatically until the team reviews it. The team can also review content on a report or on its own initiative and hide or remove it, restrict access, or suspend the account for serious or repeated violations. When an account is suspended, its content is hidden from others, its sessions are ended and sign-in is blocked. If you think a decision is wrong, you can appeal at plakapp@outlook.com. The outcome of a report or the time taken to act can’t be guaranteed in every case; we prioritise serious safety reports.
5Special Pressing subscription
“Special Pressing” is an optional subscription offering extra pressing, brush, shelf and style options, as described in the app. The price, currency and length of the monthly/yearly plan, any trial or introductory offer, and the charge after renewal are shown on the purchase screen. Purchases are made through Apple’s in-app purchase system; Plak doesn’t receive your payment card details. The subscription renews automatically at the end of the chosen period unless you cancel it. When a trial or discount ends, the standard price may apply under the conditions shown on the purchase screen. Eligibility for offers may be determined by Apple.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling generally keeps access until the end of the current paid period; charges and refunds are subject to Apple’s terms and mandatory law. A “Restore purchases” option is available in the app. Deleting your Plak account doesn’t cancel your Apple subscription; manage the subscription separately before deleting your account. Check the amount to be paid and the subscription benefits on the screen before you buy. If subscription offers and contents change over time, your existing rights and mandatory notice rules are respected.
6Privacy, third parties and availability
The Privacy Policy applies to the processing of personal data, visibility, location verification, retention and account deletion. You can manage notification, location and photo permissions in your device settings. Not granting a permission may only limit the related feature.
Third-party services such as Apple Maps, Sign in with Apple, the App Store, Apple Music and Spotify are subject to their own terms. The internet, location services, provider outages or changes to place information may affect some features. Maintenance, updates or changes to features may be needed to keep the service running and secure. We try to announce important and adverse changes in advance in a reasonable way; your mandatory legal rights are reserved.
7Signing out, account deletion and changes to these terms
Signing out doesn’t delete your account or published content. You can delete your account from within the app in Settings → Account → Delete account. Details about the deletion of main service data, the retention of some security/audit records and the need to cancel your subscription separately are in the Privacy Policy. If you can’t access your account, write to plakapp@outlook.com.
If these terms change, we publish the date of the current version and give appropriate notice of important changes. Changes don’t retroactively remove your past rights and obligations. If you don’t accept the changes, you can stop using the service and delete your account.
8Liability and disputes
Plak doesn’t guarantee the accuracy of content users create themselves, the continued availability of external song links, or uninterrupted GPS accuracy. Our liability arising from our own fault that can’t be limited under applicable law is reserved. Nothing in these terms removes consumers’ statutory rights, personal data rights or remedies. In disputes, the mandatory law and competent authorities of the place where the user is located are reserved.
